Brief Description of the Project	It is suggested that the first stage of the track to be Egypt - Sudan electrical grid with a path of length of about 2200 km from Cairo (Egypt) to Khartoum and Gedaref (Sudan) parallel to the continental road by establishing two circuits with a HVDC of 1000 kV (or a mixture of alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC) solutions of 800 kV, according to the results of technical and economic feasibility studies).
Objective and Rationale for the Project	The main objective of this is to create a harmonized Integrated Continental Transmission Network (ICTN). The ICTN will link all the power utilities networks within each regional power pool forming one regional network for each power pool and interconnect all the regional power pools to a unitary transmission system and electricity-trading floor.
Location/Site	Right way of Cairo-Cape Town road.
Existing or Planned Projects along the proposed project	The project serves an existing infrastructure asset of another sector, but there is more than 50% overlap in the geography serviced by the proposed project and the other sector existing asset.

Technical Specifications of the Project	Transmission Corridor can be constructed with a capacity of approximately 16000 MVA (4 VAC) from Cairo to Cape Town through Sudan , South Sudan and Ethiopia. This path is connected to the high-voltage stations in the countries where the line path passes by the establishment of voltage reduction stations (eg 1000/500 KV using transformers of 1000 MVA per transformer).
